I am so thankful that John and Anne at Finnigan Fairways helped me plan this trip of a lifetime. We had multiple couples travel throughout the entire country seeing golf courses and the most beautiful landsapes in the world. The planning was great with flexibility and the knowledge to be spontaneous and show us things that most people would miss. If you want a trip that is fun, relaxing, and memorable, you must consider John and Anne.

John went the extra mile, when clubs and clothes went for a walkabout in the Paris airport. I was able to use a spare set of clubs and a jumper from John for a few days, while waiting for my processions to catch up to us. The courses were lovely and we had a great variety of experiences. Can’t wait to plan the next trip.

Recently went to Ireland with Finnigan’s fairways. That was my 5th trip with John and Anne in last 7 years. As always we had a great time and everything was well planned out. John walked around nearly every course with us making it much more fun than just caddies. He has tons of historical and often funny knowledge about the places we are golfing and the towns we are visiting. Anne has everything planned for us and choice of hotels and dining spots is always tops. Wouldn’t ever think of using anyone else for a trip to the UK or Ireland.
My group of 12 have traveled with John in Scotland and Ireland. The Ireland trip in Sept 2024 was through Finnigan Fairways. Anne and John put together an excellent trip of top rated golf courses for us. The transportation, golf, lodging and dining were flawlessly planned and executed. John and Anne are pros, follow through on travel plans, and do it at a fair price. Honestly, there’s no reason to look elsewhere for assistance with golf travel in Europe.

Last year (2023) I took my family on a “non golf” tour of Ireland, seeing sights and ending in Dublin for the Notre Dame/Navy football game. I’ve been on about 10 golf trips arranged by John and Anne Finnigan but this time it was no golf—just historical sites scenery and hotels all over Ireland with my wife and two grown daughters. Castles, 2,500 year old settlements, breweries, great Irish hotels and restaurants so the ladies could get a taste of this great country. John picked us up in a large comfortable van, drove us all over and left us in Dublin for the game. With John as our chauffeur and guide, there were no worries of getting lost, being late or driving the narrow country roads. He and Anne booked us into inns and hotels that the ladies loved and we dined in restaurants and pubs that provided a true picture of the Emerald Isle. They had a fabulous time, which was my goal! If John and Anne weren’t great people who created such great experiences, I would NOT have used Finnigan Fairways for 10 golf trips and this one great family trip over the past 25 years!

I cannot speak highly enough of John and Anne. They literally take care of everything for you. We did a 12 day tour of Scotland and Ireland in 2016 and a seven day tour of Ireland in 2019. Our highlight was watching John make a hole-in-one on #13 at Tralee (he was filling an open spot in our group that day). What George Eckard’s review said it 100% correct, they know everyone, everywhere. I’m saving up for my next trip right now.
If you want to book a trip where your guide knows every club secretary which makes booking tee times a breeze, Finnigans fairways should be your choice. I just completed my 6th trip in 2019 with 7 of my best friends, playing courses on everyone’s bucket list. Accommodations and food were great, John made sure everything was perfect, from picking us up at the airport to dining in his favorite pubs.

We have been traveling with John and Anne Finnigan of Finnigan Fairways for about 25 years and 10 trips for golf in Scotland, Ireland and England. The Finnigan’s have become “family” to me and our foursome! John knows every course, every pro, and the concierge and doorman at most hotels where we stay. Not to mention every decent pub and restaurant as well as the “backstory” on all of them. As a scratch golfer, John will walk a course with our group and there’s no one better to “suggest” the proper club and approach. When we arrive and see John, it’s like seeing a member of the family. I have never had the slightest disappointment and every trip has been a total success. With his help our bucket list of playing every Open Course has been achieved! I could not give him a higher recommendation and Wil return in 2021!
I toured Northern Ireland with John on a guys golf trip and was very impressed with his services. Every venue was terrific, every planned detail well thought out. It was a lifetime of memories over the course of eight days. John’s golfing tips were as spot-on as any advice I’ve had from paid professionals. John and Anne run an outstanding Holiday operation no matter what your budget! I have been using Celtic Golf tours since its inception and cannot recommend them highly enough. Next year will be my sixth trip with John and Anne and I would not use anyone else. From pre-holiday planning and golf course selection to airport pick-up, restaurant recommendations, site-seeing and all the time when you are not playing golf, they are constantly looking out for your every need. Short a Caddie, John is on the bag, Guests back goes out, John is on the tee!! Need a present for a teen-age daughter – Anne is at your service!! Not only are they great at what they do but they are great people and I am proud to call them my friends.
I have taken 4 trips with John. We travelled with John twice as 4 couples with wives who did not golf, and twice as 8 golfers. John was very attentive to the needs of our wives while we played golf. He took them sightseeing and touring and they seemed to have as much fun with John as we did golfing. We have travelled with John to Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. John provides the type of customer service that is extremely special. No detail is ignored and no request goes unnoticed. But the most special part of our trips has been the friendships we have developed through the years. We have truly enjoyed meeting John and Anne and treasure their friendship and the wonderful memories they helped us to create. I can honestly say that you will have no regret using John to plan your next golf outing. We are in the process now of planning our next tour to take place in 2014!
Eight if us have been to both Ireland and Scotland for week plus with John. With Anne ably pulling strings in the background, the trips have been near flawless in both planning and execution. – just the right amount of fixed and flexible schedule to make sure that everyone remains happy throughout the trip. John’s very evident golf skill (and his patience with those less skilled) is a welcome bonus.
We will be returning to Ireland next year with Celtic Golf and I know I look forward to another memory building experience. I heartily recommend Celtic Golf to any and all considering a golf trip to Scotland or Ireland.

One trip was 4 golfers with our wives and the others were 8 golfers. John took care of our wives while we brutalized some beautiful golf courses and he quickly won them over. I forgot to say that I made a hole in one on #16 at Old Head. The highlight of my golfing career.
